HOW YOU LEARN

Step One

Improve your listening comprehension of TOEFL topics by listening and repeating

Step Two

Learn Strictly English’s TOEFL strategies for answering TOEFL questions

STRATEGIES

Understand listening content:

Memorize relevant vocabulary lists
Become familiar with common TOEFL topics (science, art, literature, history)

Avoid TOEFL tricks and traps:

Idioms & Rhetorical devices
Tangents (notice when the lecture goes off-topic)
Homophones (sound alikes)
Sentences designed to confuse you

Know how TOEFL organizes its lectures:

Begins with strange grammar and vocabulary to intimidate you
Then summarizes content that today’s lecture is not about (last class, or homework)
Student Questions are often clues to what TOEFL will ask you

Answer TOEFL questions:

Predict what will be a TOEFL question while you listen
It’s easier to eliminate wrong answers than find the right answer
